Publisher's Summary

Travel to the bottom of the earth...to a place you never dreamed existed.

Beneath the ice...a hand-picked team of specialists makes its way toward the center of the world. They are not the first to venture into this magnificient subterranean labyrinth. Those they follow did not return.

Over the rocks...Across the yawning caverns...Beyond the Black River...You are not alone.

Into the darkness...where breathtaking wonders await you - and terrors beyond imaging...Revelations that could change the world - things that should never be disturbed...

At the bottom of the Earth is the beginning. Keep moving...toward a miracle that cannot be...toward a mystery older than time.

Another winner

This book had it all! Adventure, monsters, a bit of magic, romance, humour. I loved it. An archeologist, a botanist, a geologist, the military and others go down into Mt. Erebus, a volcano in Antarctica, to conduct research. Yes, a volcano! What they find is a wild adventure that uncovers mysteries from prehistory. Is the book realistic? Not at all. Is it fun? Heck yes! So much fun. The narrator is so perfect. He moved through Australian, Egyptian and American accents. He portrayed women, men, a child and an unknown language quickly and with ease. Can’t believe it took me 47 years to find James Rollins. Looking forward to the next book.

This guy never fails!

another roller king James Rawlins novel… As a fan of the Sigma Force series I was primed to enjoy the ride and was not disappointed.

Don"t waste your time

Tense moments but story is so silly I didn't bother listening to the last third.
