About this listen

Ex-Army paratrooper Griffin “Fin” Brooks thought he left danger behind when his battlefield injuries forced him to pursue a new career in marine biology. But one fateful night off the coast of South Africa, a ship nearly crashes into him and his loyal golden retriever, Jacques.

Not just any ship. A starship.

Though its alien pilot is dead, the rare extraterrestrial animal inside is not. Fin learns the creature is being smuggled across the galaxy when a pair of interstellar visitors respond to the crash. But those same investigators accuse Fin and his dog of crimes he didn’t even know existed.

The only way to clear his name is to take the strange creature to its home planet and find out who’s responsible for killing the starship’s pilot. And that means Fin quickly needs to learn how to fly a spacecraft and navigate a galaxy teeming with intelligent life beyond his wildest dreams.

And he’s not the only one with designs for the crashed starship and it's cargo. Fin will need every skill he’s honed as a paratrooper and a marine biologist if he—and his dog—are to survive.

Don't miss the next rollicking sci-fi adventure from Anthony J. Melchiorri. It's perfect for fans of JN Chaney, MR Forbes, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Sunken Ship rises to the surface! Excellent series starter.

I liked the idea of a ecco warrior and scientist, military trained hero. A ripper page turner perfectly adapted for Audible.

ponderous...

returning with prejudice , I think I made it to chapter 4

here's the deal

this started well....but I quickly got tired.

the protagonist is ex military 82nd airborne officer but is written like a high-school graduate- college freshman.

he should be written with more maturity

strike 1

the AI is a plant? then it's not artificial it's living and sentient/sapient

I'm finding this a road block I can't get past at this point

strike 2

the banter and cross chatter is more fitting a YA novel with a younger protagonist... especially with aliens... tiring, it really felt like a Disney movie looking for cheap giggles

strike 3

if you nake it past these , my annoyances, this may be the book for you

the narration is well above what I expected and is what hooked me as far as it did... I may look for more narrated by this person

I always based my narration reviews on the cartoonie way some may voice characters and how they have the vocal range to pull off a decent female character

solid performance , but the vibe and feel of a YA novel
