New powers. New worlds. New enemies.
A threat looms on the horizon in the form of a super with unthinkable power. Corbin’s world is changing faster than he can keep up with. Luckily, he has Seena by his side. Even better, she has a few new tricks up her sleeve.
Freedom comes at a cost.
The VRC has a revolution to deal with. Corbin and Seena must gain the help of the most influential person in the VRC while ensuring no one finds out where they got their powers from. Also, who is this representative from the Citadel?

IMO Not as good as the first one
The structure of this book just felt off to me.
The first half of the book felt like it spent too much time meandering , Lots of talk about powers, and getting powers, and where they come from, but not much real plot development. There's the occasional bit of action thrown in to try and spice things up but they don't really lead anywhere.
The last reasonably long chapter has nothing to do with the rest of the book - I'm guessing it's going to be relevant in the third book but was put at the end of this one instead of the beginning of the next to extend this one's length. Feels very out of place.
And the parts in between... just never really came together for me. The 'climax' especially kind of comes out of nowhere and doesn't bring any sense of resolution or accomplishment.
Overall I was disappointed - the first book was a much more enjoyable read.
RC Bray of course does an outstanding job and is a pleasure to listen to as usual.
