Publisher's Summary

Just like all little girls, I hoped I was special and that one day my powers would be revealed. My parents would be bewildered, my friends would equally worship and envy me, and my bullies would run away in terror! Nothing happened when I turned 10. I didn't grow wings at 12, still wasn't able to make things move with my mind at 14, and at 16, I was already too old to believe in such nonsense. Well, what do you think happened the day I turned 18? I got the confirmation that I was only human. In the mail! Oh, and also an invitation to apply to the Grim Reaper Academy. Because, apparently, humans can be Grim Reapers, too.

Fast forward to day one, semester one, year one. There's a test! No one told me I'd have to take a test to enter! But there are only 22 Reapers in the world, the competition is tough, so I guess it makes sense? If I pass, then I will be sorted according to what kind of Death I'll make if I survive the rigors of the Academy.

But this is my chance, dammit! This is what I've been waiting for all my life! Okay, so I'm not a princess, or a mermaid, or Sailor Moon. But I can be a Grim Reaper one day. I'll take it!

Contains mature themes.

The description itself sucks you in.

As does the first chapter. I found it a little annoying that there was so much time given to her inner thoughts but that's a silly grievance, since her world WAS turned upside down and there is So Very Much going on. This is a great story with awesome narration. Looking forward to the rest.

Book 1 will have you hooked

Book 1 in a new series . Not many authors write about Grim Reapers , the ones that come and take the souls away . I really enjoyed this one . At times though I wanted to shave the heroine, she sounded whinny and let others push her around.
Heroine is Mila Lazarov, she never felt wanted at home. When she gets a letter saying she’s invited to an Academy she so wants to go , but her father tears it up . Mila still finds a way to go . At the academy she’s the only human there . Mila meets lots of super beings , false gods , Mags , and many more . Mila needs to find a way to make it and be one of the 22 finals chosen .
The house she’s assigned to bully her , She needs to find away to protect herself from an Archangel trying to do her in . 2 paranormal beings vie for her attention, Mila likes them both , so she has 2 boyfriends. Things get interesting when Mila finds out why the Academy invited the first human to become a Grim Reaper. Yes it ends on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to book 2

Kelsey performance is great . Her voice is strong , clear and you can tell each character by her tone

excellent story it will get you hooked

honestly this is a captivating and fun story it's pure and it gives information in a way that isn't boring it isn't blatant exposition the reader gets to learn about a new world with the main character in all the right ways because this is a series it ends with a lot of unanswered questions of course but it feels totally worth it honestly by the second to last chapter I already knew I was into the next book and went in and bought it before this one was even done so I could jump straight into book to after I left a review telling people this is a good story give it a chance.

I would highly recommend this series.

the narrator is spectacular.

not for me

this books narrator was great but the story is just straight up about a whole school of bullies constantly abusing the female mc and when I say the whole school I mean 100% of the staff and students and the female mc never stands up for her self and after all the bullying she just ignores it and starts making out with all the bullies caus why not ignore it when people try to murder you and shit so If you like story full of sleezy disgusting men making comments about making the female mc there sex slave and physically abusive women constant attacking her then this is the book for you
