Publisher's Summary

Emma Chase, New York Times best-selling author of the Tangled series, returns with the second installment of the Legal Briefs series!

A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight.

When you're a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating - and that suits me just fine. In fact it's necessary when I'm breaking down a witness on the stand.

Complications don't work for me - I'm a "need to know" type of man. If you're my client, tell me the basic facts. If you're my date, stick to what will get you off. I'm not a therapist or Prince Charming - and I don't pretend to be.

Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I'm going to Mommy & Me classes, One Direction concerts, and the emergency room and am knee deep in a damn compost pit.

Chelsea's too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she's not. She needs someone to help her and defend her - and the kids.

And that - that I know how to do.

A book for your Top Ten Best Romance Novels

Every woman needs a Jake Becker in her life. I have listened to this book several times, simply because it is such a wonderful love story. Jake meets Chelsea, who has been left as guardian to six nieces and nephews. It sounds heartbreaking, and sometimes it is, but the story of Jake falling in love with Chelsea, taking on the responsibility of six children, and his internal battle to back off and run far away from a family is brilliantly told by the author, Emma Chase. Jake wants to be the eternal bachelor, and Chelsea stands her ground and never begs or cries. I have never enjoyed reading romance novels with children. It's not my "thing". But kudos to Ms. Chase who managed so successfully to turn my opinion. Ms. Chase remains one of my favourite authors - and she certainly should be yours as well. #Audible1

More Than 5 Stars!!

This is one of my top 5 most favourite audiobooks in my Sebastian York collection. I've listened to this numerous times and still enjoy the narration and the story every single listen. I love Emma Chase and when you have my all time favourite narrator reading the part of Jake, it's a winner!! This audiobook is sexy, touching and funny. The profanity doesn't bother me the least bit, it fits Jake's character and the love scenes as hot as hell. Most definitely worth a credit!!
