Publisher's Summary
As children, we dreamt of the wonderful things we were going to do when we were grown-ups.
Now that we’re grown-ups, why aren’t we out there, living the lives of our dreams?
This fun and original guide will teach you how to bypass your self-doubt and take ACTION.
Using her experience as a storyteller, broadcaster, and (undercover) life-coach, Clare Bowditch collaborates with neuroscientist Dr Charlotte Keating to detail useful Cognitive Behavioural Therapy concepts that will help you tame your inner critic. With practical steps and Clare’s trademark humour and intimate storytelling style, Tame Your Inner Critic will teach you the skills to retrain your brain and achieve your big fat dreams.
Clare Bowditch is an ARIA award-winning musician, a Logie award-nominated actor, and has been named Rolling Stone Woman of the Year for her contribution to culture. In 2019 Clare Bowditch released her debut best-selling memoir, Your Own Kind of Girl, which was short-listed for Australian Audiobook of the Year, and won an ABIA for Best New Australian Writer. In 2010, Clare overcame her Gen-Xer cynicism and trained to become a life coach with a specialty in teaching big-hearted humans how to overcome their self-doubt. Since then she’s had the pleasure of sharing speaking bills with the likes of Brené Brown and Marianne Williamson, where she is best known for teaching large audiences to overcome their collective terror of public singing, and sing anyway, in three part harmony, in fifteen minutes or less.

Learning and fun
I enjoyed this audible book. It had practical steps to use...steps that could be practiced by anyone. It also used humour in a way that made an otherwise boring subject into something more entertaining. I highly recommend to anyone looking for simple yet effective tips to help tame your inner critic.

who said this has to be serious?
Loved the silly playfulness of this podcast. Who said this has to be serious anyway? I'm learning the power of play & identifying my critics - added value! Thanks for this light hearted approach to an aspect of the psyche that I've taken far too seriously for forever.

I wanted to keep listening...
I really loved the subject and the content in the first 3 episodes, but I just couldn't keep listening to it.
I consider myself a fun person who loves light-heartedness, but....the quirkiness in this podcast was just too much. It felt very childish at times to the point of irritating. I had to move on, unfortunately.

Helpful and Entertaining!
This audiobook was really well done. It has a supportive and lighthearted way of speaking about something that can feel pretty heavy. So glad I came across this! highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn about WHY their inner critic exists and HOW to deal with it and move forward with their goals.

Great delivery for some, perhaps not all.
I listen to this once a year or so and always enjoy what is said, and how it is spoken.

Never finished The book
I had to stop listening because of the Grating Narrators Trying to Be Humorous
Singing Summaries & All only managed 2 Chapters after taking 2 weeks between
the 1st Chapter and 2nd & Failed at Giving it the Good Old College Try :|
Unfortunately for review purposes leave the Last three chapters unread
But for the first two Chapters - Uninformative - Unentertaining & Unintelligent
