Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: If he doesn't play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone's business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he's been emailing with, will be compromised.
With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon's junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he's pushed out - without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he's never met.

Story
Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it. Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things. But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them? Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated. Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

Best Novel EVER!!!
This book was literally everything I wanted it to be and more. Not only was it cute as hell, but it was believable, and dare I say relatable. Even if your not dealing with the exact same feelings Simon does in this book, everything from family to friends to just surviving high school is relatable. It helps that every single character is amazing and fleshed out...you actually feel for every character and you constantly are surprised by there development. The number one best part about this book, though, are the emails between Simon and his anonymous crush, Blue; every single chapter focused on there conversations is funny, sometimes sad, and oh so cute!!!! I did not want to put this down AT ALL and the fact that its becoming a movie is even better. Honestly, if you are looking for something funny and cute than this book is most definetly for you; just be ready to feel all the feels.
