Menurut riwayat Al Baihaqi dalam kitab Ad Dalail bahswa segolongan orang Yahudi memeluk agama Islam selepas mereka mendengar cerita Nabi Yusuf AS. ini kerana ia sesuai dengan cerita-cerita yang mereka ketahui. Dari cerita Nabi Yusuf AS. ini, Nabi Muhammad SAW mengambil unsur pengajaran yang banyak dan merupakan penghibur terhadap beliau dalam menjalankan tugasnya untuk menyampaikan ajaran Tawhid ke seluruh muka bumi.

Surah 012 Yusuf (Prophet Joseph) is the 12th sura (chapter) of The Holy Quran. It is said to have been revealed in a single sitting, being unique in this respect. The text narrates the story of Prophet Yusuf (Pbuh) or Prophet Joseph (Pbuh). While other surahs tend to jump between topics, this sura is special in sticking to its central theme throughout, telling a coherent story in chronological order.

It has been narrated by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, a great grandson of Prophet Muhammad SAW, that the individual who recites Surah 012 Yusuf during every day or during every night will be resurrected on the Day of Judgement with beauty resembling the beauty of Prophet Yusuf (Pbuh). He will not fear the Day of Judgement and will be among the best of the believers.
