Publisher's Summary
Abby Raines is leaving Las Vegas. She's trading the glitter and excess of her hometown for the rolling hills and lush forests of Rapid City, South Dakota. She's taken her first real job, and she's determined to succeed on her own.
Mark Marsten traded the Texas range for the Army Rangers years ago and never looked back. Now he's settled permanently in Rapid City with the remaining members of his Special Forces unit. He thought he had it all - well, almost, anyway. Until a sassy redhead with a sharp tongue and body to die for rolled into town.
Mark knows that he's too much for her long-term, but he can't resist a fling with Rapid City's newest resident. He thought that he knew the game. After all, it's his game. And always his rules. But more and more it feels like Abby is the one holding all the cards.

Control and Ownership are not attractive
I’ve worked with far too many victims to find this type of sexuality at all attractive. After they entered their BDSM relationship Tex was not attractive at all, more self absorbed or narcissistic in his relationship with Abby. However he did redeem himself when she shared her history. She on the other hand was an example of a desperate, dangerously foolish sexually stunted woman. Power over is harmful to everyone on both sides. Only Empathy & compassion lead to greater Love and spiritual growth

Lots of Variety in this Story
I don't know much about the BDSM world. This was an interesting exploration of it. I think if you don't skip anything even if you're uncomfortable they flesh out their reasoning and the purpose of what they do to a decent enough degree that it all makes sense. I understand why her story went so deep into the submissiveness. I enjoyed the book and thought it provided nice variety into the series. I've read the entire series but I keep coming back to this one. Narration was perfect as ever.

BDSM Incoming
**This story isn't for the faint at heart, easily offended, or closed minded readers**
I appreciate the way Mark has been open with his friends, both historically in lore and in Book 1, and that he knows what he's looking for in a partner. Abby's introduction into his world seems to go too quickly (maybe due to book length?) but Mark claims it's because he needs to push her to understand her hangups. Abby could've walked away but she decides to take the plunge.
If your an Outlander fan, do you remember Wentworth Prison? There is a milestone between Mark and Abby that made me cringe similarly, but it's also one of those situations that triggers a turning point for the couple so I can somewhat understand why it was included.
My high rating may be because this was my first story in the BDSM universe, but I felt the author did a good job of explaining Mark's predilections and examining Abby's self reflection into her buried sexual desires that she was ashamed of. I think many women are still judged for enjoying sex and their desires for extra bedroom actives and I enjoyed how the author addressed it.

Dicey!
Love how it starts and how it ends! The middle though...hmm... Abby is all kinds of spunky, I love it. But...all that seemed to change quickly(Glad she figured out who she was and what she wanted). Some damn hot scenes but some that are not my scene, pain, and humiliation are not for me. Perfect narration. I love how in this and the previous book they openly talk about BDSM and his buddies all support him and slick her. I believe Vegas was pushed way too far way too fast! So much needed to be discussed and their relationship needed to be built on trust first. I was looking forward to Tex's story and honestly felt pretty let down, his character was a bit of a letdown as there was no safe sane, and consensual there for a bit if you ask me!! It does seem to level out toward the end so I'm glad I stuck with it(You lose out if you skip ahead). So far these books are a good length! There have been some comments about how these books can be stand-alone but I'd disagree, you totally wanna listen to them all to get the bigger picture of the entire group together!! All in all the HEA is worth it.

Not truly what I expected
Having read other platform reviews I did understand that bdsm would be prevalent throughout, but so much that I was skipping chapters. There was no really good story to follow outside of the sex. An unfortunate story as the characters have such potential

Different than the rest
It was a lot different than the others in the series. Not my favorite but it was interesting. I really enjoyed the characters in this story.

Not for me
Ugh. I’m not against exploration, but that was a little to deep for me with what is supposed to be a romance book. The FL spent to much time being upset and crying and confused. The ML took it a little too far in my opinion for someone who had no experience in his world. They knew each other for a matter of maybe a month before he expected that level of trust from her. Trust is earned over months or even years.
Not to mention every level of play they did was in a matter of days, give her a few weeks to adapt to that level of play before you increase it. No wonder she got overwhelmed and kept asking questions. The whole relationship was rushed and overwhelming for someone who had no experience in that type of relationship prior. Plus parts were degrading. Making her pee on the lawn? Come on!

Sex nothing else
There was no story, just sex. Not for me, I like a bit of spice, but a story as well

Not for everyone.
I was so excited to hear Tex' story, but this wasn't what I was expecting. I like BDSM in stories, but this one was a little strange for me. It has got to be difficult to find the fine line of writing a story with this kind of BDSM and leave you feeling like their is a solid relationship and love between the characters. I just don't think this book found that fine line. The beginning was good and the end was okay, but the middle was just too much and I struggled to get through it.
