Further, we learn why and how this young man decided to go into the military.
The listener is transported through the details of his basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina to the development, deployment, desegregation, discrimination and the complete life-transforming saga of a desperate teen into a soldier, culminating into his traumatic re-entry into America!
