About this listen
Eighteen-year-old Charlee Parker met the love of her life in a parking lot-a leggy brunette with a valedictorian medal hanging from her rear-view mirror and an attitude as biting as a Boston winter. Alexandra Woodson was guarded, a 19-year-old orphan set on a bright future in hospitality administration. She never imagined an art student with a penchant for cheesy pick-up lines and stealing parking spaces would crack her rigid exterior and claim her heart.
For four years, theirs was an enviable love - evergreen and growing. Unbreakable... until it broke.
Alex's job now brings her back to Boston, after five years working on the opposite side of the country. When, by chance, they meet again, Charlee and Alex are swept up in a whirlwind of heart-rending history, tossed between past and present, and lovers old and new. Will their lingering connection be enough to convince them that some loves are meant to last? Or should the past remain in the past?
Contains mature themes.

Highly recommend
This book “The Art of Us” by K.L. Hughes was a very pleasant surprise for me. It’s my first book by this author so I really didn’t have any expectations. I was assuming I would get the typical lesfic romance…fairly heartwarming, a little bit cheesy but sufficiently entertaining. Usually I listen to this genre of audiobook for light entertainment while I clean my house or make dinner or on my commute to work.
This book was different. It’s not fluff. It was so well written and it goes deep into the dynamic of the two main characters, their relationship with each other as well as their relationships with the secondary characters. Normally I find myself rolling my eyes at how quickly the MCs fall in love and become soulmates after one chance meeting. With this book, I could actually feel the connection and turmoil they were feeling, like it was real. I was hooked on the story from the very first chapter because the style of writing, the way the story unfolds in the past and present at the same time and from both points of view, kept me from putting it down. I listened from start to finish fully riveted in the story. There are no plot twists or mysteries or ridiculous misunderstandings 3/4 of the way through the story that the MCs need to overcome. It’s just the story of two people and the internal obstacles that come with heartbreak and loss. Not just how it effects their relationship but also the struggle within themselves, with future relationships and also how it affected the all of the people close to them and their respective relationships with each of them.
I’m probably making it sound boring but it was anything but. It goes without saying that Abby Craden does an absolutely amazing job conveying the tone and emotion of the story, portraying the unique personalities of all of the characters and providing distinctly different voices for each of them. It’s amazing and impressive what she can do while narrating a story.

Beautiful
This was one of the most beautiful stories of love lost and found again that have experienced in a very long time. Abby Craden's performance was amazing as always. Highly recommend giving this book a chance!

I've always loved this story
I always loved this story. back when it was only a fanfiction, I loved it. Then the book came out, and I loved it just as much. The audiobook is not that different and is a great addition to the paperback; and ebook I already own. The flashbacks are easier recognized in the book because of the way it's written, but you can still see the difference in the audiobooks.
I recommend it and will always do

Second Chance at Love
I loved this book. The mix of current and past story lines really helped drive home how much in love Charlie and Alex were and still are. I was left with such a happy feeling after reading the HEA ending. I listened to the audio version and as usual, Abby Craden’s narration made this great book even more amazing.
