About this listen

An unholy attack upon his brother-in-law, General Arisaydia, pitches sorcerer Learned Penric and his Temple demon, Desdemona, headlong into the snake pit of Cedonian imperial politics. But they will not travel alone. The mission from his god brings Penric some of his strangest new allies yet and the return of some of his most valued old ones.

This novel-length story takes place two years after the events of The Physicians of Vilnoc.

Full length Penric and Desdemona Adventure

Another compassionate and humourous adventure of Penric and Des. I was going to say cosy, but some of the assassins concepts are actually quite ghastly, if gently told.

Penric is becoming more Milesian everyday (the fans of the Vorkosigan stories will know what I mean) but with the wit and intelligence interwoven with a layer of calm and patience (with Des spinning the chaos).

Nice to get another story involving Bosha and Lady Tanar. And the fish loving saint is a joy (and used just sparingly enough).

Truly Satisfying.

Penric does it again.

Another geat story from one of the most dependable authors. Will she keep them coming?
