About the Author

Born on July 28, 1866, Helen Beatrix Potter is one of the world's best-selling and most-loved children's authors. Using this as inspiration, Potter began writing and illustrating children's stories, self-publishing The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1901, which became an immediate success. By her death in 1943, Beatrix Potter had written 30 books, the most popular of which were her children's stories. Her works have been translated into more than 35 languages, sold over 100 million copies worldwide, and have been retold in song, film, ballet, and animation.
