About this listen
The first Wilde's book. Go back to where it all began....
Jon Beatty thought he'd found the best man for him until Craig walked out. To add insult to injury, Craig's got a new lover - a woman - and wants Jon to be a different kind of best man...at his wedding.
Reasoning that the only way to get over one man is to get under another, Jon heads out to Wilde's, the night club on Capitol Hill famous for its hot clientele and hotter bartenders. Jon just wants to get drunk and get laid, and bartender Liam Sable is more than willing to help with both.
Their one night stand turns into a rebound fling, but as Jon moves on with Liam, Craig starts having second thoughts about the break-up. His tiresome antics are the least of Jon and Liam's worries, though. The least annoying, and the least dangerous....

Great start to the series
4.5 stars. Despite the premis being ridiculous (asking an ex to be your best man) I really liked this book.
The two MCs were well paired and had great chemistry. I enjoyed the plot of Jon looking for a one time hookup, leading to them enjoying each other and deciding to have a friends with benefits relationship where both are newly single and just want to distract from their previous hardships and don’t want a bf. With their perfect chemistry in and out of the bedroom u know how that goes. 😉
I hated Jon’s ex from the start with the position he put Jon in so I was rooting for Liam and Jon rght from the start. I won’t spoiler it but the plot twist I was not expecting and it made me want to keep reading to find out what happens.
This could of been a 5 star but I had to leave off .5 star. I was really annoyed that Liam wasn’t being upfront with Jon about said plot twist and ultimately pulling Jon into his crap without his knowledge. I think things could of been handled a lot better if he was honest with John from the start and avoided everything for that hour or so near the end where I felt devastated for Jon once again.
The narrator did a good job. He had a nice sounding, raspy, sexy voice. He was easy to listen to. He did speak rather slow but in a purposeful matter of sexual appeal. Unlike some other boring monotone voices that have put me to sleep. Though I couldn't help but think he reminded me of those shows on old am radio lol. He uses a echo mic for the parts where the character is just thinking things and not saying them out loud. To distinguish the two. It sounds strange and happens a lot but I got use to it and admire this unique concept on the narrators part. I only give him a 4 due to him not differentiating his voice between the characters. I got a little mixed up on who was saying what a few times.
