With painstaking care, retired FBI agent Vincent Pankoke and a team of indefatigable investigators pored over tens of thousands of pages of documents—some never-before-seen—and interviewed scores of descendants of people involved, both Nazi sympathizers and resisters, familiar with the Franks. Utilizing methods developed by the FBI, the Cold Case Team painstakingly pieced together the months leading to the Franks’ arrest—and came to a shocking conclusion.
The Betrayal of Anne Frank is their riveting story. Rosemary Sullivan introduces us to the investigators, explains the behavior of both the captives and their captors and profiles a group of suspects. All the while, she vividly brings to life wartime Amsterdam: a place where no matter how wealthy, educated, or careful you were, you never knew whom you could trust.

Haunting
Though listening to the audiobook proved challenging given the details of the case, I was riveted throughout the book. The exhaustive research is impressive and extraordinary—and I was moved to know that all findings and materials have been donated. I listened to the Diary of Anne Frank before listening to this book; I’m also watching A Small Light. So all these aspects together form a moving and haunting story from recent history.

An excellent account and achievement
Loved the way that the documentation, to arrive at the results, was doggedly, persistently pursued and the way the discoveries were presented which enables the reader to follow along.

Fascinating story
Otto Frank’s relentless pursuit of the betrayers of the Annex is a fascinating look into the post-Nazi years in Germany. I think this is a very important book- well-researched and well-presented.

May we learn from The Betrayal of Anne Frank
The message to take from Anne's story is to stop prejudice and discrimination right at its beginning. Prejudice starts when we speak about THE Jews, THE Arabs, THE Asians, THE Mexicans, THE Blacks, THE Whites. Fascinating Warning
Absolutely fascinating book. I was swept away. Aside from the compelling way the investigation was presented, it provides deep insight and dire warnings. World War II could repeat itself if humans don't stop and recognize what's going on... in these times.

Eye opening
Really brings the Anne Frank story to a better light. Everyone needs to read this and understand the history. We must not let it happen again.
