About this listen
Award-winning author and researcher Dan Buettner has traveled the world to meet the planet’s longest-lived people, and learned nine powerful yet simple lessons that could put you on the path to longer life. Where did he find them? In the Blue Zones.
Blue Zones are communities where common elements of lifestyle, diet, and outlook have led to an amazing quantity – and quality – of life. Dan Buettner shares the secrets from four of the world’s Blue Zones. Buettner’s extensive study uncovers how these people manage to live longer and better, but found in the everyday things they do: the food they eat, the company they keep, and their very perspectives on life. In The Blue Zones, they become yours to follow for life!

Less emphasis on diet and more on value of sleep and social
Some of the comments regarding saturated fats, salt, and cholesterol are seriously out of date. All of which are vital for good health. The heavy emphasis on diet needs more balance towards the enormous benefits of quality sleep and physical movement, especially as we age. The emphasis on family, social networks, and sense of purpose were spot on and wonderful!!!

Ageless lessons to live by
Thanks #Audible1 I really enjoyed listening to this audio book. I enjoyed it more than I would have had I simply read the book. The narrator's impersonations of the interviewees gave the story some personal liveliness. I took notes and I hope to pass them down when I become a centenarian.

Blue Zones of Happiness is Better
I’ve read each of Dan Buettner’s books on Blue Zones. If I had started with this with I probably would’ve liked it better, but after the other books, it seems redundant and mundane. I was also put off by the accent impersonations by the performance - it was distracting. I suggest skipping this one and reading The Blue Zones of Happiness.
