It is a tale of heroism and resistance, of friendship and romance, and of unwavering devotion-including the readiness to risk one's life - to literature and art.

Learn about Vilnius (Vilna) Lithuania

An excellent book, well researched, written and narrated. Although I have studied much World War II history, I realize I haven’t known all that much about what took place in Vilna. I certainly didn’t know that both Hitler and the Soviets terrorized the city. It is stunning the efforts these brave souls took to protect books and documents, only to have to do it over again. Then to fight so hard for the Jewish people to access them. This was quite an enlightening book - and inspiring, despite the havoc. A good listen.
