About this listen
She's looking for the perfect man. He's looking for the perfect victim.
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot.
Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet.
Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.
Sydney should feel safe. After all, she is dating the guy of her dreams. But she can’t shake her own suspicions that the perfect man may not be as perfect as he seems. Because someone is watching her every move, and if she doesn’t get to the truth, she’ll be the killer’s next victim...

My husband is dead. I attended his funeral. I watched his casket be lowered six feet into the ground. (Actually, it may have been only five feet, but that still seems like more than enough.) And then we ate an array of finger sandwiches and deviled eggs and miniature beef wellingtons that cost more than my first car. My point is, Grant is gone. And so are all his many, many deep, dark secrets which I never really ever bothered to ask him about. He is never coming back.

Fast paced and a fun ride, but hard to believe.
The narrators' voices were easy to listen to, making it enjoyable to follow the story. The pacing of their delivery felt natural, neither rushed nor dragging. Overall, the narration greatly enhanced the listening experience.
Sydney, a self-centered and naive protagonist, lacks depth, but the fast-paced story with an unexpected twist makes it a recommended beach read.

Definitely worth a read!
Overall the book was very good, this was easily read in 2-3 days. Kept you intrigued with the parallel storylines. This would have been a very strong book however I felt the ending was very unrealistic. The climax/conclusion occurred way too quickly. Could have extended another chapter or two for lead in and a slow burn.
