Story
A terrorist bomb explodes during a South Korean celebration of the anniversary of the election of its first president. Alarms are raised in Washington. No one is claiming responsibility. The first suspect is North Korea. Could it be making a power play against South Korea and unification? If so, how will the U.S. respond? Paul Hood, Director of the Op-Center, must answer these questions. The Op-Center, a largely autonomous new agency which takes on the government's toughest security problems, is only six months old, and has never been given a foreign crisis until now.

Great Story
I was unsure if I would like the book right off it seemed a very political aim to the book and yes it is but wow it sucked me in more and more each chapter as all the stories and characters built up and up and started to converge I couldn't stop listening and HAD to know what they were going to do next to outmanouver their opponents. Really like the narrator for this one, just great. The story is a real interest grabber full of good characters and stories i was honestly rooting for both sides by the end they were all done so well.

Another solid outing for Jack
A very good follow up to Red October, the story of what happened the following years expands on a well established soviet world

Awesome story, reading intonation and details.
I really enjoyed the intonation, pronunciation, style in which it was written and read back; in short a masterpiece . Great work!

Glad I stuck with it
I was a bit disappointed that the narrator was different from the first 2 books, and it threw me off. But Pritchard grew on me and now I’m glad for the duo of audible narrated books; the performance turns out to be captivating. Great story and great performance.

Great listen
A great listen, looking forward to the next book in the series. Wasn’t a huge fan of the voice at first but once I listened for a bit it was good. Changed speed to 1.2x

Amazing book, mediocre recording
The book itself is amazing - one of my favourite Tom Clancy books of all time. I prefer thr Scott Brick narrations. Michael Prichard isn't bad at all, but it seems to me that some of the recording is inconsistent. At times, he is a wonderful baritone, and at other times, it sounds much more nasal - from one passage to the next. The next book in the series, Clear and Present Danger, narrated also by Prichard, doesn't seem to suffer from this.

A Story of Spies and Patriots to the End
A tormented patriot, mixed with the lies and half truths of the political elite, molded but the desperation of nations to maintain some semblance of balance... this is the meat of heroic stories, at least those that can be made public.

Very Very good
This is the first of Clancy's books that show his plot weaving style that made him an effective and entertaining author.
The performance from Prichard is a little weak in some places (like accents) but effective. A good read. 8 stars out of 10.
