About this listen
When a sink hole opens up near the Australian outback town of Pintalba, it uncovers a pristine cave system. Sam joins an expedition to explore the subterranean passages as paramedic support, hoping to remain unneeded at base camp. But, when one of the cavers is injured, he must overcome paralyzing claustrophobia to dive pitch-black waters and squeeze through the bowels of the earth.
Soon he will find there are fates worse than being buried alive, for in the abandoned mines and caves beneath Pintalba, there are ravenous teeth in the dark.
As a savage predator targets the group with hideous ferocity, Sam and his friends must fight for their lives if they are ever to see the sun again.

Good action, lack of plot
This was an action packed monster horror story that was absolutely loaded with blood and gore. It was entertaining enough to listen to and DEFINITELY wasn't slow burn. There wasn't too much of a plot though, and I found that the action scenes got kind of repetitive. This was an okay listen, but a decent plot could have saved this one.

Sometimes blood and gore just don't cut it.
This book is brimming with so much blood and gore that it actually became numbing. The author was so busy writing about dismembering, shredding, and, oh yes, devouring human meat that he forgot about the meat of the story; he missed out on interesting, layered characters and a cohesive story-line to hold the plot together. So, I am left desensitized to the gore and disappointed in the writing... not even able to recommend the narrator who isn't terrible, but just okay.
