About this listen

Celebrate the season with this paws-itively heartwarming novella by New York Times best-selling author Emily March - available in audio first!

Mary Landry and her pregnant rescue dog are on their way home for Christmas when the unthinkable happens: Her car breaks down along a deserted stretch of mountain highway in the middle of a blizzard. Facing dire conditions, Mary seeks shelter from a lone cabin in the distance whose warm light beckons her like a Christmas star.

Nick Carstairs has one wish this season - to ride out his least favorite time of the year in peace while working on the latest episode of his hit True Crime podcast. The sexy-voiced podcaster didn’t plan to host a stranger and her pregnant dog, but he’s happy to help a traveler in need…it’s an extra perk that she’s gorgeous. Now if she would just stop trying to change his mind about Christmas.

As they spend time warming up by the fire - and an unexpected attraction roars to life - will Mary help Nick discover the wonder of the season after all?

Sweet fun holiday read

This book was way too short, as I wanted more. The characters and story were amazing. Both full of the holiday spirit we love. I’m glad the author chose to provide a glimpse of the future at the end of the book, but would have loved an epilogue.

Light, heartwarming and happy

Perfect listen while wrapping Christmas presents. Enjoyed the switching between narrators, both of whom did a great job and were convincing in their roles.

A Sweet Holiday Tale with Heartwarming Voices

🎧AUDIO 🎧
I stumbled across The Christmas Pawdcast while browsing Audible and was drawn to the festive premise and promising narrators. This novella by Emily March is a cute Christmas story brimming with themes of giving, receiving, and embracing the magic of the season.
Mary and her pregnant rescue dog find themselves stranded during a blizzard, leading them to the doorstep of Nick, a podcaster with a Scrooge-like attitude toward Christmas. What follows is a cozy, snow-filled journey of connection, warmth, and holiday charm.
The narration is a highlight of this Audible Original. Jason Clarke’s rich voice perfectly captures Nick's brooding yet endearing personality, making it especially easy to listen to. Andi Arndt does a great job bringing Mary’s compassionate and optimistic character to life.
While the story is heartwarming, I found myself wishing there was more. The novella is sweet but feels a little rushed, leaving me wanting a deeper dive into the characters and their blossoming relationship.
This was my first book by Emily March, and it’s sparked my interest to explore more of her works—especially to discover more about the characters from this world. If you're looking for a quick, wholesome listen to get into the holiday spirit, The Christmas Pawdcast is worth a try.
