About this listen
Ahren and his companions journey on to Evergreen, finding new courage after the traumas of the Green Sea. Setting off, then, to traverse the continent in search of the missing Paladin Yollock, it isn't long before they find themselves sucked into a maelstrom of adventures involving a woman who has been robbed, a desperate Cape Verstaad grandee, not to mention a cutthroat city which proves itself a veritable nest of ne'er-do-wells. Controlled by the brilliant assassin Reik Silvermantle, this hub of lawlessness and immorality presents Ahren and his friends with one of their greatest challenges . . .

Unpopular opinion but I prefer the new narrator
I like Stewart Crank better Gildart Jackson.
Yes, some of the pronunciations are different but his character voices are more distinct.
I found Jackson sometimes confused male character voices making the story harder to follow.
The story is probably my favourite in the series!
Lots of twists and good plot.

Continuation of storyline
Change in narrator soured the story. And the softness in tone made it difficult to hear if any background noise is present

A solid adventure and story.
The continuing adventures of the 13th paladin were enjoyable as always, however the change in narrator did cause some slight unease. Pronunciation of certain items and characters is different but still recognizable. Overall a sold story.

Disappointed by new reader
Read many names/words differently than first 10 books - very irritating. Could’ve at least matched the pronunciation from first reader.
Still love the series, although will probably just read instead of listen to the rest of the books if they can’t get G. Jackson back.
