This dark epic fantasy follows the heirs of four noble houses—each gifted with a divine power—as they form a tenuous alliance to keep their kingdom from descending into a realm-shattering war.

Fell Asleep Multiple Times

The narrator speaks too slowly and takes excessive pauses.
The book itself is excessively long, and some of the POV characters are boring and unlikable. The chapters aren't labelled by character so I can't see how long I have to suffer before the story comes back to more interesting characters.
I fell asleep multiple times listening to this book.
