Publisher's Summary

USA Today best-selling author and Amazon all-star award winner

While foreign forces occupy America, pockets of ordinary citizens gather together to resist.

Can a ragtag group of determined people survive the takeover?

Logan Cahill, Skylar Madigan, and Harper Whitaker are part of a growing underground effort to reclaim occupied America. But when Logan is alerted to a cryptic message in the world’s largest server room, the doomsday clock begins.

Logan knows the enemies, the weapons, and the time of the country's death sentence, right down to the minute. If he and his newfound friends want to survive the apocalypse, they’ll have to bug out fast and head north to the southern Oregon town of Five Falls.

With no power, no heat, and a total grid collapse, tough times keep getting tougher. But when America is struck with an EMP, this small group of survivors will be forced out of the frying pan and into the fire. Only there can they fight for their homes, their families, their community, and their right to be free from the restraints of an oppressive world force.

But will they all survive? Will America survive? Could you survive?

This intense new tale of strength, survival, and patriotism puts ordinary citizens and preppers on the front line of a domestic conflict that was never supposed to happen, one that will either unify the country or break her for good.

*Contains scenes of violence and adult content consistent with a full-scale societal collapse, foreign occupation, and a post-apocalyptic nightmare.

"The greatest defeat in human history..."

The book has a lot of entertaining parts. I would feel wrong about recommending this book without mentioning a few things:

The characters read very similarly; if they weren't named, it would be difficult to figure out who/what/where/why... They all have the same mannerisms, and overcome basically the same inner struggle, and so forth.

Also, I am having a hard time feeling this book isn't racist. Yes, I understand "the enemy" is Communists from China, but find some other descriptions rather than using "ChiComm" every few sentences. If I were an alcoholic, this book and "ChiComm" would be my favorite drinking game.

Last but not least, for the love of all things, America being attacked by China is NOT, or will NOT, be "the greatest defeat in human history." The stance of America being the greatest achievement to happen on Earth is very prevalent.

Having said the above, if you have a lot of credits, and have already exhausted the genre, this book will help you pass a few days. I did finish it.
