Publisher's Summary

This audiobook contains the complete Thunder in the Heavens series (Thunder of War and Thunder of Vengeance).

The Tyrell are a race that love to fight. The more difficult the fight, the better they like it. Every race they find is given the same level of technology and a specific amount of time to exploit it before the Tyrell come back looking for a fight. Humanity is warned by another alien species that the Tyrell are coming, and the race is on to build an Alliance of races strong enough to stand up against an empire whose expansion has been relentless.

Cate Harrow and Gort Eagleton are two officers who might be good enough to beat the Tyrell if their own incompetent leadership can get out of the way and if their alien allies don't stab humanity in the back.

This fast-paced, action-packed military SF series looks at both sides as they play the grandest chess game of all.

if you like spacebattles this is a series for you!

This book does not waste time. Within the first few pages it is announced that a space battle is coming to earth! This is not a book about flowery prose or about considering the deeper things of life. It's about action, tactics, defeat and victory.

It is very well written. the storyline is tight , the Sci-Fi elements were reasonable and the narrator was excellent. Some reviewers have opined that the ending was too short. I would suggest given how the story unfolds, the ending was just about right - but the book was so engrossing that you will not want it to end. Looking to relax? Want to spend a few hours listening to a fast-paced action-packed book? Then this is the story for you!

Typical military sci-fi

It was an ok story, nothing special, typical military Sci-Fi.
The characters were quite bland, but the thing I couldn’t get over is the main character being a woman so attractive that she made an Alien woman fall in love with her! However she sounds like she’s a middle aged man who used to smoke but quit a few years ago…

High level fleet tactics

This book is about the high level tactics involved in fleet and carrier combat. If you are looking for a shoot-em-up book you will be disappointed. This book was a great view into the thought process and work that is put into planning a battle. The characters not only think about the optimal strategy but also what their opponent might do and how to counter that aswell as how they will be countered. The story buildup is believable and the conclusion is satisfying.

If you have always wondered what went on before the big space battle or what duties the Admiral of a fleet deals with this book will fill in that gap.
