OZ land of the fey

L, Frank Baum's, Complete Wizard of OZ, was next on my list of 100 books to read. Having the complete series, 22 stories, over 80 hours, and a hectic month it's taken me a while to get through.

Definitely very different from the many movies made about OZ. Made for youthful minds and people. Most of the stories involve Dorothy, who eventually moved to OZ with Ant May and Uncle Henry and was made a princess of OZ.

For it's time period when writing I feel that L, Frank Baum's book inspired children, mainly girls of the times to become more. As OZ is ruled by a fey princess named Ozma. Through many of the 22 stories I had the feeling that L, Frank Baum was doing his best to empower women.

I do find it somewhat funny form a social view. Oz is a communist country. With very few allowed to practice magic. But I guess that is ok when the ruler's are good??

Unlike many authors Frank Baum took ideas from his audience, he also acknowledged this fact and always thanks his many correspondence.

Eric Vincent has done a fantastic job in narrating this fantastic childhood collection.

As ever, I thank all involved in the creation and production of the distribution of both book and audiobook format. Help keep storytelling alive. Keep supporting our treasure of author's.

As ever David Evil Midknight

Doesn't say where each book starts in the chapters

The lack of labeled chapters and, particularly, of labeled book start and end points would be enough to reduce my rating, but this also has several spots where mistakes were not properly edited out, so there are repeated lines in almost every book and errors besides. If you don't want to put in the editing required on a 90 hour audiobook, don't produce it.

The only saving grace is that I mostly use this to fall asleep to, so errors and frustrations don't stand out quite as prominently for my purposes.
