About this listen
Snake oil salesman Dr. Darius Darke and other "legends" of the Old West are called upon to fight a band of brain-eating bandits in a three-dimensionally-challenged box canyon. This story is a prequel to David Bain's full-length weird Western novel Riders Where There Are No Roads. David Bain is the author of Death Sight, the first novel in the Will Castleton psychic detective series, Gray Lake: A Novel Of Crime And Supernatural Horror and several short story collections. He teaches writing at a community college in Indiana.

Suffers from prequelism
The story here is simple, the characters barely rounded off let alone fleshed out. As a bit cut from a longer tale I can both understand why the author would want this told and the editor could safely cut it out. It doesn’t stand alone nor is it so bad to be worth dismissing.
Not quite sure how to feel in the end. I don’t think I will ever listen again but if my dance card for books wasn’t so full I would be likely to seek out more in the series.
