Publisher's Summary

Book 3 of The End Times

The End Times have come to Ulthuan. The battle that began millennia ago will finally end, as the druchii march upon the soil of their ancestral home once again and Malekith claims his destiny.

Listen to it because...

It's Gav Thorpe writing about elves, finishing the story he began in The Sundering trilogy. Storylines decades in the making reach their conclusion in an epic that changes the fate of the elves forever.

The story:

The End Times are coming. With Naggaroth besieged by the hordes of Chaos, the Witch King Malekith makes the decision to abandon the Land of Chill and make one final attempt to seize the throne of Ulthuan. As the druchii march upon the soil of their ancestral home once again, long-laid plans come to fruition and treachery blooms, bringing Malekith closer than ever to his goal. All that stands in the Witch King's way is the Regent of Ulthuan, Prince Tyrion, and the darkness within Malekith's own soul, the call of the Curse of Khaine.

I really found this title to grab hold of me and not let go. I don't have yhe words to explain why , however I would give this a try.The narrator is beyond good.

I like it.

Malekith is an interesting character and I like seeing his perspective. His past haunts him and is constantly burdened by it. This shows itself commonly through flashbacks, which didn't bother me because I found them endearing to his character. Yes, despite what he might do in them. I very much enjoyed the way he still behaved as Malekith would, and doesn't change into a different character which I feared might happen. Interactions between characters and decisions in certain scenarios are fun to hear because of this. Overall, I find his journey through the book to be satisfying and I think it's worth a read.

Also R.I.P. to a certain red dude. Did not realize Malekith and Seraphon were capable of that. Wished it worked that way in Total Warhammer 3.

An amazing story

A bit too many flashbacks for my liking, but otherwise, it's an amazing story. I highly recommend it.
