About this listen

Number-One Best Seller in the Entire Kindle Store

Number Nine on Amazon Charts

I spent most of my life feeling dead inside—until I met Peter Pan and the Lost Boys.

It wasn't until Pan and Neverland that I finally felt alive.

But things are not all full of magic and sunlight on the island. There's something darker and more sinister haunting the forest.

And worse, the fae queen and Captain Hook are ready to fight for control of Neverland and they will stop at nothing to get what they want.

War is brewing—can the Never King get his shadow back and assume his rightful throne? And if he does, where will I fit?

Or will all of Neverland be in jeopardy right along with my dark, twisted heart?

NOTE: The Dark One is book two in the Vicious Lost Boys series. It is a dark reimagining of Peter and Wendy. If you like your enemies-to-lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy The Dark One. You can expect an island with darkness and secrets and no true hero in sight, with a found family atmosphere, and "touch her and I’ll unalive you" vibes. The Dark One ends on a cliff-hanger.

OMG I'll take them all!!❤️

What a great sequel!

All the narrators did an amazing job again.

The storyline, I really love that Smee is Hooks sister and you learn about the crocodile. The twins Bash & Kas, and Vane I will take any day. I need a story on the twins and another on Vane. There has to be stories behind these "gentle"men.

I will never be able to go back to the happy happy Peter Pan... Even without the spicy adult scenes this story is what we really need. Do a little rewording here and there and you have an amazing yet darker childhood story of Peter Pan. The scenes with Bash & Kas 🥵🔥😈🌶️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I can't wait for book 3!!!!

Even better than the last

The story just sucks you in and keeps you ‘hooked’ as the plot thickens and we go deeper into the mythology.

Wonderful performances by all, the multi-voice experience really adds a great dimension to the series.

A Darkly Addictive Adventure in Neverland

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
📚E-BOOK📚&🎧AUDIO 🎧

The Dark One, the second installment in Nikki St. Crowe's Vicious Lost Boys series, is a dark, adventurous, and unapologetically twisted continuation of the story that began in The Never King. Just like the first book, it’s told from multiple POVs and ends on a tantalizing cliffhanger that leaves you reaching for the next book immediately.

The narration is beautifully done in dual narration on Audible, with Stella Hunter, Shane East, Curtis Michael Holland, Diontae Black, and Vanessa Edwin bringing the characters to life. Their voices perfectly capture the raw, gritty energy of Neverland and its morally gray inhabitants.

This series had been on my "very dark romance to-read" list for a while, and as with any dark romance, it’s essential to review the trigger warnings beforehand. If you’re comfortable with the themes, you’re in for an absolutely wild ride that’s worth every second.

The Dark One picks up right where the first book left off and plunges us deeper into the danger and debauchery of Neverland. The plot thickens, the stakes rise, and we learn so much more about the characters. It’s captivating, gritty, and impossibly seductive.

This series has officially become a guilty pleasure of mine. It’s an erotic and unique spin on the Peter Pan tale, filled with ruthless Lost Boys, a fiery Darling, and a cocktail of dark desires that make Neverland anything but childlike. Seriously, I have no idea what they’re putting in those Neverland drinks, but everyone here is ready to burn the world down for each other—and their passion is as wild as the jungle they inhabit.

Winnie’s strength truly shines in this book. She’s fierce, vulnerable, and unafraid to take what she wants, making her a standout heroine. And Vane—the broody, enigmatic Dark One—is growing on me. He’s mysterious, dangerous, and impossible not to be drawn to.

Without giving too much away, this book is darkly addictive and sets the stage for even more chaos in book three. That cliffhanger? Absolutely maddening, but so worth it. I’m diving into the next book immediately!

If you love morally gray characters, an erotic reimagining of Peter Pan, and a plot that keeps you on edge, The Dark One won’t disappoint. Just make sure you’re ready for the triggers—and the heat!
health struggles that demand a brave heart to read. It’s a story that stays with you long after you’ve turned the final page.

5/5

Loved it! I read parts of it and then listened to the rest. I do wish the voice actors would have collaborated more so that the voices that are always consistent rather than the voice actors pretending to be all characters in their chapters. Especially during spicy scenes it would have made a much more impactful difference! Overall great! Def recommend! Reading or listening!

Another amazing audio book!

If you’ve read and enjoyed book 1 you’ll love book 2. The story continues from where it left off. It was a quick and action packed story that kept me interested from start to finish. The voice actors continue to do an amazing job and we are given new POV’s & characters. Definitely recommend reading/listening to this story. I’m on my way to book 3, especially after that cliff.
