About this listen

Ishmael Jones is someone who can’t afford to be noticed, someone who lives under the radar, who drives on the dark side of the road. He’s employed to search out secrets, investigate mysteries, and shine a light in dark places. Sometimes, he kills people.

Invited by his employer, the enigmatic Colonel, to join him and his family for Christmas, Ishmael arrives at the grand but isolated Belcourt Manor in the midst of a blizzard to find that the Colonel has mysteriously disappeared. As he questions his fellow guests, Ishmael concludes that at least one of them – not least Ishmael himself - is harboring a dangerous secret, and that beneath the veneer of festive cheer lurk passion, jealousy, resentment, and betrayal.

As a storm sets in, sealing off the Manor from the rest of the world, Ishmael must unmask a ruthless murderer before they strike again.

Performed by Scott McCormick, Laura C Harris, Ken Jackson, Colleen Delany, Richard Rohan, Maboud Ebrahimzadeh, Kimberly Gilbert, Eva Wilhelm, Matthew Keenan, Nanette Savard, Chris Davenport, Dylan Lynch, David Harris.

Enjoyed listening

This was a great book, I loved the charaters instantally. The main charater is loveable almost from the start. I was sad that everyone died in the first book, granted they were minor charaters within the story but I was disappointed in that.

I love the graphic audio book, they are so much fun, this is the first time I have been listening to them just on my vacation in July. I didnt think I would like it but Im glad I did.

Really liking it!

Almost finished, and want to say this story is well done. Some of the sound effects are pretty cheezy, especially the regular footsteps indicating movement, but it does paint a clear picture in one's mind. A movie in the mind is an appropriate tagline.

Enjoyable reluctant mystery

Great narrating cast. Mediocre storyline. Alright characters. Epitome of an unreliable narrator. Also, how has he been alive for half of a century and not know more than he knows? His knowledge is always vague until it isn’t. Usually when he suddenly needs it. I’ll give the series 3 books before I decide.
