Publisher's Summary

They want him dead, but he won't die.

Venir didn't choose to be the defender of this unforgiving world full of bloodthirsty, magic-wielding underlings set on world domination. The helm of power and his waraxe called Brool chose him. And there's no turning back.

With enemies closing in from all directions, Venir, his thief friend, Melegal, and their companions must battle through an endless cycle of backstabbing royals, bloody skirmishes, and waves of lies and deceit. Or see their home descend into total chaos and devastation.

The Darkslayer series is an epic sword and sorcery adventure set in a world where bored immortals play with the lives of the unsuspecting inhabitants. Fans of R. A. Salvatore's Drizzt Do' Urden, Frizt Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, David Gemmell's Druss the Legend, The Witcher, Raymond E. Feist's Pug the Wizard, or Robert E. Howard's Conan get delighted in the Darkslayer series. Perhaps you will as well.

I am very sorry but the narrator is so bad I don't want to finish it. a waste of a credit. so bad I would remove it from my library.

I enjoyed it

While there where some technical difficulties like repeating sections over all I enjoyed it and even found myself listening to it after work.

sound effects really lame

I Just do not like the effects this author incorporates into the books he writes. The stories are just okay. too many times there were repeats of the previous lines... very annoying.

Very good value. Using an axe to problem solve.

The story is fine and immersive. There are about 650,000 words in the story, the narator mispronounced 10 of them. As you listen, you pause and think, did I just hear that? Imagine fury pronounced furry. Brooch pronounced 'brewch' instead of 'broach'. An infinitesimally small detail in a very enjoyable experience.

Don't bother with this one

Although I mostly enjoyed the simple story, I cannot recommend this series to anyone.

The music in this audio version has to be the most out of place that I have ever heard. It would have been MUCH better to have no music at all.

The file itself is not very good as some chapter parts are repeated (this happened several times throughout) and some are left out. The blank air sections also did not help.

Although the performer has a good voice, the inconsistency in the characters voices and sometimes strange reading cadence made it unenjoyable.
