Publisher's Summary

From Italy in 1733 to Edinburgh in 1831 to a series of chilling murders in London in 1870 and a lethal game of revenge decades later, a watch touches lives with misfortune - until it comes into the hands of one young woman who might be able to stop it for good.

This outstanding collaboration between four outstanding novelists follows characters who are irrevocably linked by fate, each one playing a key role in breaking the curse once and for all.

My expectations were too high

I am a fan of Sussana Kearsly's books, and I have 'listened' to all of them. I usually can't wait to know what comes next. I had this book on my waiting list for over a month! I couldn't wait for it to come out, and that was probably my problem. My expectations were too high, so the book ended up being a disappointment for me. The clue should have been that there were 3 other writers working together to create this story. I found all 4 stories to be weak, including Susanna's. I enjoyed and recognised the characters in her part of the book, but it still didn't have enough time to really pull me in. The rest of stories feel totally disconnected from each other and they never get anywhere.

I will be waiting for her next 'solo' book, which I am sure I will enjoy it as I have all her other books.
