Publisher's Summary
A fleet of 40 worldships carrying the last remnants of humanity on a mission of survival trying to find a new home...but what if a new planet were found - would it bring happiness and hope - or start a war that would rip the fleet apart?
Coming from the poverty-stricken Elfor settlement on the Humility, Master Thief Yasmine Dufont just wants a way off the stinking ship and to put a whole lot of distance between her and gangster ex-boyfriend, Dimitri. But when a dream score of credits goes disastrously wrong, she’s left on the run with a hidden code that everyone seems to want to get their hands on.
Addict Detective Zhang Woo will do anything for his next fix. Distracted by his insatiable needs, broken by the murder of his last lover, he knows he’s on a downward spiral but has no idea how to stop it, and even if he could recover the stolen navigational code his boss wants so badly, should he?
Breaking new stories has always been Kristi Carter’s passion - but there’s something not adding up about the report she’s currently covering. Digging deeper could have repercussions not just for her career but for her very life....
As the tensions rise between Elfors and the anti-Elfor movement headed by the sadistic Captain Pierre Jefferson, everyone knows the breaking point will be reached soon. Humanity may well have been saved from complete destruction - but what cost are they willing to pay to secure their future?

Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

Amazing Story - Sometimes a Little Overwrought
Story is awesome, characters are a little over the top sometimes but the banter is pretty hilarious. I really enjoy listening to this book!
I do have an issue with the structure though. I am almost positive that the editor for this audiobook got some sections mixed up.... either that or the author is going for some non-linear slaughterhouse 5 vibe, because every once in a while something will happen... and then like 15 minutes later after the story has progressed suddenly someone rushes in and exclaims about the thing that just happened.... 15 minutes ago. Like.... the timeline is a little confusing on when certain events happen and I swear some sections of the audiobook are mixed up.
It may just be me, mixing up characters, but I have noticed it a few times... and gone and rewound a bunch to try to make sure I’m not hearing things wrong.
That aside, it doesn’t actually take away from the story too much. I still love everything about this book... even if the Nazi comparisons are extremely overwrought and some characters cartoonishly exaggerated.... it kind of fits the style.

still very exciting and interesting story~~~
very much enjoyed listening to the book. Again Colin Morgan's performance is the best!!! the story in overall was fun. but there are way too many sexual scene in the book. as reader, I thought some of those sexual scene is unnecessary in the story. It would still work perfectly without such sex in it.

Really entertaining story, wonderful performance
I had a few squabbles about some plot points which I hoped would evolve differently after the first book (most prominently I was disappointed by how Jeannie and Sven's characters were diminished), but overall, it was very well written, fast paced and I liked the direction in which the main characters were going. I found the psychology of the characters realistic and gripping.
Performance-wise, phenomenal. I have never witnessed any actor put on so many different voices and accents so successfully.

Entertaining & A Good Story. Love it!
I'm a little suprised by some of the comments this book was getting about the sex scenes. I'm sorry, but one of the characters is a literal sex-addict detective. What were you expecting?!
Since there's a lot of complaints in these reviews about the sex, I guess I'll mention the things they DIDN'T complain about. There's drug use, drinking (alcohol), violence, gore, and sexual assault. Pretty sure torture is mentioned at one point.
Now that that's out of the way, I loved this story. I agree the first story was good, the second one is better. Some characters got more story time, some new characters were added and I loved them all.
Regarding the narration, I feel like it's impressive the range of voices Colin Morgan does. A little distracting at some points, but still impressive.
Overall, an exciting space story filled with all the seedy and sordid things we pretend to be horrified by.

Well worth the credit, and as we all know....
All credits are good credits, no questions asked.
This follow-up is everything i've been hoping it would be. Big fan of the first book, very pleased.

Fantastic
Amazing series so far. I'm deeply invested in the characters and was surprised by how the author drew me in. Excellent narration as well. Fantastic book two, can't wait to start book three.

It’s at the top of my list!!
When I listened to the first book I wasn’t expecting it to be one of the best books that I’ve heard so far on audible. And I have a very large library. Somehow, this book surpassed the first book!

Disappointing after the great first book
I enjoyed the first book in this series so much. But this book felt random and the fun humour of the first book was almost absent and the characters became, for the most part, annoying. The saving grace was the excellent narration. If it wasn’t for him, I would not have listened to the whole book. Though I probably won’t listen to the third book in the series.
