About this listen
The thrilling conclusion to R. R. Haywood’s epic Code Trilogy.
After years of confinement in the squalor of the Worldship Humility’s lower decks, the Elfors are finally free. But freedom comes at a cost and as the Elfors spill through the rest of the ship they are met with open hostility. Tit-for-tat killings and assaults spread throughout the ship and Captain Helga Sveinsson is in danger of losing control.
Yet the chaos on board is nothing to the real danger facing Helga, Zhang, Sam, Yasmine and the others. They are still in possession of the code which contains critical information: the location of a habitable planet. A new home for the last of humanity. That knowledge is power and there are people who will stop at nothing to have it.
For 120 years The Six have ruled the fleet from the shadows, controlling finance, raw materials, construction, clothing, food, water–everything. Now they have decided to flex their muscles, and those they cannot bribe they will destroy. Nobody can stand against them.
But an Elforist never backs down from a fight, and this time the stake is the future of all humanity...

Story
It’s been 120 years since the 50 or so worldships containing the few million survivors of the human species set off after the planet Earth was destroyed by a meteor. On the Worldship Humility, Sam, a 30-year-old Airlock Operative, is bored. Living in space should be exciting and full of adventure, except it isn’t, and he fills his time hacking 3-D movie posters and holographic adverts outside the stores in the retail zone. Petty thief Yasmine Emile Dufont is also from the WS Humility, but she is not bored....

Story
When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Bill Rustad and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

Story
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. Okay I'm ready for Book 4
Excellent story! This novel is clever, easy to appreciate and very timely. It recognizes the evil in our society and applauds the ingenuity and guts it takes to make changes.

Virtue signaling and physics breaking
Loved the first two (humility and drop), but something was just off about this. (irony for an audio rendition) there was not enough showing me, and too much telling me. Also, assuming any sort of Newtonian physics, spoiler-if the main engines of the fleet are not burning, then there is no reason for a shuttle to be lost forever for "falling behind"despite there being no relative acceleration, and if a worldship aimed and thrust at another, but missed... It would by the internal logic be lost to space forever almost instantly after shooting past. A spinning shuttle would have outward force, not chaotic changing floor wall ceiling nose-breaking 'gravity'. Other than the physics taking a complete back seat it seemed a decent adventure. Narrator was amazing with a wide variety of voices for a huge number of extras. Sometimes Yas and Helga's voices got a bit blurred and context was the only way to tell who really said what.
Edit- audible/publisher is calling it a trilogy. There has better be a conclusion or I'm going to be rather dismayed.

I want to love this series...
I many ways I do. It is a fun, goofy sco fi adventure but both the Elfor Drop and this book for some reason decide to take a momentum smashing deeply repetitive and awkward detour to spend chapter after chapter talking about this character or that's sexual dysfunction. While I can appreciate giving characters in a goofy sci fi book deeper backstories but for the most part the characters are borderline cartoon characters but then we spend half a book talking about one's never ending sex addiction or another's ptsd after being raped and how she can't have sex with her boyfriend. Again these could be perfectly fine plot points but the books spend way too much time on them literally doing the same thing over and over... I dunno it is really weird...

incomplete storyline
good story, but I noticed the author has a tendency to rewrite facts of the story in the next book (book 1 Penny and Yasmin helped kill chatty Simone's dad, in tbe beginning of book 2 it said that they didn't do anything and just stood back. which is confusing because that was sich a big koment in Yasmin's back stort about how it affected her and changed them all). the same thing happened with the beginning of book 3.
And I know this is supposed to be the final book of the trilogy, but there are a lot of unanswered quesrions and loose threads that need to be cleared up. the series may have ended, but there wasn't any actual ending. feels like the author just decided to stop writing rather than actually finish the story
