Epic

Addictive series. Absolutely epic! A masterpiece in storytelling. Excellent narration. Definitely recommend. I cannot wait for the next book to be released.

This series just keeps getting better!

I am simply in awe of this work! There is so much here, so many threads intricately woven into a complex and compelling story. As we move through this second book, a bigger picture begins to emerge: one of treachery and greed, love and heartbreak.

I love these characters, even the ones I love to hate! The common themes of duty, loss of agency, subjugation and sacrifice are told in many ways, yet throughout there is an underpinning of love. I have my favourites of course (Looking at you, Soren!), yet they all have such engaging stories.

And those damnable Star Gods!! What is their story? Where did they come from? What games are they playing and why? Even the ones we have barely heard from have their manipulative fingers in the Pie that is Maricol. In so many ways, they have made these characters I love into rionetka, stripping them of their agency and making them dance to their tune.

Finally, a shout out to the amazing narration by Gary Furlong. The intensity he brings to the story as he shapes each character is truly phenomenal!

Book #3 can't come soon enough, and until then, I look forward to re-listening!!
