The title says it all. Essential.

For all lovers of Rumi, new and longtime this is the pinnacle of the spoken word. Well worth listening to many times. Perhaps my favourite audio book presentation. Barks has touched the hem of Rumi’s robe and brought back the timeless message of Shams. I laughed, I cried and I danced. Thank you!

Historical storyline well written. Reader's comforting voice is appropriate to the content. Recommended to those who appreciate Rumi poetry.
