About this listen
In The Eye of God, a Sigma Force novel, New York Times best-selling author James Rollins delivers an apocalyptic vision of a future predicted by the distant past.
In the wilds of Mongolia, a research satellite has crashed, triggering an explosive search for its valuable cargo: a code-black physics project connected to the study of dark energy — and a shocking image of the eastern seaboard of the United States in utter ruin.
At the Vatican, a package arrives containing two strange artifacts: a skull scrawled with ancient Aramaic and a tome bound in human skin. DNA evidence reveals that both came from the same body: the long dead Mongol king Genghis Khan.
Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma Force set out to discover a truth tied to the fall of the Roman Empire, to a mystery going back to the birth of Christianity, and to a weapon hidden for centuries that holds the fate of humanity.

I fall for it every time…
I know, I know, Rollins pretty much has his formula down pat: a looming mega disaster, colourful bad-guys, jaunts around the world, main characters never die, just enough action & suspense to get a lil’excited, tiny bit of boyfriend/girlfriend experience, some historical fiction, nerdy science bits and …no surprises here: a happy ending…ta-da! …but here I am finishing off this one now digging around to find my next Rollins adventure. I enjoyed this particular story more the second time around. PS) Have you noticed that there is ALWAYS a pocked face person and a subterranean something-or-other in every one (except one) of Rollins stories?

No thanks on this one.
I have enjoyed reading James Rollins books. This is the first audio version I have tried. The story might be good, but I can’t get past the poor narration. I’ll probably get a hard copy to read instead.

Can’t do it
Ugh. The narration makes a weak story worse. I am generally a fan of the sigma stories, but this one was so predictable and poorly crafted that it was unlistenable.
