About this listen

Science fiction meets historical facts in this thrilling novel by ancient language scholar Michael S. Heiser.

Haunted by his parents' death and his career failures, Dr. Brian Scott has begun to settle down in the life he's been given...until he's kidnapped by military insiders known as "The Group".

Disappearances. Visitations. Murder.

Brian and a team of world-class scholars are given a confidential mission: to prepare humanity for a new reality. They are here. But as the government's involvement with extraterrestrials is revealed, strange things begin to happen. Something isn't right. Unraveling layer after layer of deception and counter-deception, Brian moves toward a shocking revelation that will forever alter how humanity sees itself.

Everything represented in The Façade is real: Every document cited exists; every ancient text discussed is authentic; and every historical figure referred to or quoted in it actually exists.

Awesome

A great read with twists and turns. Heiser is a very clever story teller and is quite unpredictable. Many genuine sources for many claims made in the story, giving it an eerie realism. This realism evokes Lovecraftian cosmic horror

Good story. Distracting background music. Juvenile narration.

The story is interesting.

The production is poorly done. The occasional background music and sound effects are distracting. The narrator is overly dramatic, as if he were reading to a group of grade school students.

I'm so excited for book 2!

the story is amazing. the narrator makes the characters voices sound annoyingly similar to each other though, he's horrible at making a female voice (they all sound whiny) also he gets wrong expressions at times like he'll sound bored and the words will say the character said excitedly or something. Regardless I still love the story.

Great story, but it skipped in a couple of places. Looking forward to the next book.

Best Nonfiction on Audible

I haven’t listen to or read any non-fiction for years, I simply just couldn’t waste precious time on entertainment. I only got into this because the intro said that the documents were real and the events were a historical fact. After reading the documents to make sure, I decided to check this out. It was captivating and stimulating. Suspenseful and exhilarating. If you ever wonder what is really going on behind the whole UFO phenomenon, this is by far the best most coherent explanation there is! Can’t wait for the Portant, Bring it to Audible ASAP!!!

Hidden in plain sight

Love how Heiser threads his knowledge throughout the story
I’m not a fan of the sound effects and especially the background music. The style of music never fits the storyline and detracts from it.

Quite Disappointing

The narrator sounds like a radio announcer who’s not great a different voices and often butchers the intonation or adds weirdly inappropriate emphases to phrases. The ideas behind the story are fascinating, but the story itself feels like it’s being told by a biblical scholar trying to write fiction . . . . The plot and ideas were explained each step along the way through waaaay too much exposition in the character dialogue; there was no tension and little mystery about what was going on.
Writing this review was hard because I love Dr. Heiser and think his biblical scholarship is some of the most important work that has been done in this area in the last 100 years. Highly, highly, highly recommend “Unseen Realm” or “Supernatural” or any of his other non-fiction . . . But not his fiction.

no cigar

While the story and ideas presented were good and interesting, the narration and production were horrendous! The narrator used strange intonation and put emphasis in odd places. The dialogue felt childish in most most places, but I can’t place if that the fault of the writing or the reading. The production could have done without any of the background audio and sound effects. I hope to not come across another book narrated or produced by this team. I had to use every ounce of my willpower to finish the story.
