About this listen
First published in 1963, The Feminine Mystique ignited a revolution that profoundly changed our culture, our consciousness, and our lives. Today it newly penetrates to the heart of issues determining our lives - and sounds a call to arms against the very real dangers of a new feminine mystique. The underlying issues raised by Betty Friedan strike at the core of the problems women still face at home and in the marketplace. As women continue to struggle for equality, to keep their hard-won gains, to find fulfillment in their careers, marriages, and families, The Feminine Mystique remains the seminal consciousness-raising work of our times.
As an added bonus, when you purchase our Audible Modern Vanguard production of Betty Friedan's book, you'll also receive an exclusive Jim Atlas interview. This interview – where James Atlas interviews Naomi Wolf about the life and work of Betty Friedan – begins as soon as the audiobook ends.

Excellent! I'm so glad I finally read this book.
It should be required reading for all students, male and female, and discussed thoroughly by all.

life changing even now
cant believe how much this book is compelling and eye opening as a woman, and a feminist, more than 50 years later. powerful stuff. I cant wait to read it again. posey's narration is effective and leaves room for thoughtful reflection.

Well written #Audible1
#Audible1 Well written for it's time. Still somewhat applicable today and an essential classic for any feminist to read.

Narrator was monotone
This book is excellent. What a tour de force for mid century feminism, but also so important for modern people to read and understand, as many of the same issues pervade today. The narrator, however, fell short. I am usually a huge fan of this actress, but I don’t think her tone varied once during her whole narration. So, she was a bit of a disappointment here.
