About this listen

When Danielle Boatman inherits Marlow House, she dreams of turning it into a seaside bed and breakfast. Since she's never visited the property, Danielle's not sure what awaits her in Oregon. She certainly doesn't expect to find one of the house's previous owners still in residence. After all, the man has been dead for almost 90 years - shouldn't he have moved on by now?

Charming Walt Marlow convinces Danielle the only way he can move on is if she solves the mystery of his death. Danielle soon discovers her real problems may come from the living - those who have their sights on Marlow House's other secrets.

Fun

I found this story is a fun read. Not scary. I normally read scary stories and this was very refreshing.

Enjoyable

This is an easy listening book, with a good story, and likeable characters. The person reading/ narrating the book did a good job with pacing, tone, and voices. This was the kind that of cosy mystery I had been looking for.

Light and cute

I like this series so far, its a good start. The narration is great, the charaters are believeable and are strong. The paranormal is in the back ground but not over whelming.

A cozy mystery

I don't have a ton to say about this one! It was a cozy mystery revolving around a haunted house and the ghost that occupies it. It wasn't an amazing book and I found there was too many side characters for such a short story. Overall though, it was entertaining enough.

Easy plot

I feel like this book is part of a series, or at least that it was not the first book featuring this main character. I felt like I was missing important bits of information the whole time because they kept referring to inricate details of the character's past, and it was obvisouly not part of the main plot. Kind of like inside jokes that I did not quite get. It was a bit frustrating, The plot was nice, although everything fell into place way too effortlessly, it felt a bit easy. I did not like the narrator. Not that she did a bad job, but her voice sounds much older than 30--the age of the main character. It felt like a 60-year-old impersonnating a 30-year-old, I was very put off by it. So... this book passed time. it was OK, not great,

Kinda Dull

Didn't get what I wanted out of this, the story was alright overall and although the narrator likely has a niche I don't think this is it. She just doesn't sound right for the girls in this book and she isn't great with the old gentleman voice for the other character. I think that's what kept pulling me out of this.

The Ghost of Marlow House

Love this story enjoyed it very much. Wondering who was the killer of the ghost or did he do it himself found it to be quite interesting, and would like to hear another one from this a series an author, if there is another book, if there is a book to.

Delightful mystery

I loved the quirky friendship between the ghost, Walt, and Daniel. I found it light and an easy listen while I puttered.

Mediocre

So, to preface my review, I must say that I did actually finish listening to the whole book. I was busy and didn’t have a lot of time to search for another one however. I found the dialogue incredibly irritating as the characters would repeatedly question the other echoing what the other had just said. Also, the author was overly descriptive, for items that had absolutely no reference to the story or setting. I think if I was a junior reader I would find it enjoyable. Maybe.
