About this listen
A woman who has everything....
People would kill to have Faye Adelheim’s life. She lives in an ultra-swanky apartment in the most exclusive area of Stockholm, she has a gorgeous husband who gives her everything she’s ever wanted and she has an adorable daughter who lights up her world. Faye’s life is perfect.
So how is it, then, that she now finds herself in a police station?
The truth is that Faye’s life is far from what it seems. The truth is that Faye isn’t even her real name. And now she’s been caught out. There’s no way she’s going to go down without a fight. The only question is – who will escape with their life?

Couldn’t stop listening
Intricate details and plot make this a satisfying crime drama. I hope there are more in this series.

'Revenge is best served cold!'
Camilla Lackerg writes very good stories. This one is up there with her best ones. A little slow to develop, but once up to speed it took off very nicely indeed.
The narration by E. Winters and J. Dunn is great.

great story
Well developed plot line with some wonderful character development. Kept you cheering for the protagonist as her plans unfold.

An interesting direction
I've enjoyed many of Ms. Lackberg's Erica Falck / Patrik Hedström novels beginning with the Ice Princess. So I wanted to give this one a try. She is a skilled writer, managing several streams of the story at once without jarring the reader. And I have to say that I did enjoy the idea of Revenge. In fact, if there were products available, I would probably buy them. But the book is an odd mixture of The Feminine Mystique and Fifty Shades of Grey. I found all the sex gratuitous and frankly, boring; although I think that is perhaps the point she is trying to make. It seems for most of the book that we are meant to cheer on the main character as she turns the tables on her narcissistic husband/ex-husband. And truly, he deserves everything he gets. But my brain keeps going back to Victor, whose innocence and diabolical demise are brushed under the rug and never mentioned again. So my cheering was seriously curtailed.

The ending is great but....
Okay, the first four hours were aggravating and I was loosing it on both Faye and Jack. If this audiobook had not been gifted to me, I would have returned it. But I was encouraged to stick it out and at the 4 hour mark, this book became more interesting and less painful. By the last 3 hours, I was engaged. By the end, I was satisfied and happy with the ending. Overall, its a decent story and the performance is good. But my god, did I hate Faye for quite a while at first. If you read this one, listen to the first or two hour, then skip to the 4th hour.
