far away from the early Change novels. magic swords? spooky language abilities? fantastic battle skills?
Hard to swallow. It started very well but seems to have meandered into self important drivel.
bring back the Bear Killers!

too many unnecessary details, portentious narration. huge cast of characters. overstuffed.

The story, like all those before it from Mr. Stirling, and Todd McLaren's narration is wonderful. Except... someone seems to think that it's Imperative, I repeat, IMPERATIVE that whenever there is an internal monologue, the volume needs to drop. This makes listening hard. I think it us counterproductive to the story telling.
