About this listen
Rosamund Pike returns with an outstanding narration of The Great Hunt, Book Two of the Wheel of Time, now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund as Moiraine.
In The Great Hunt, the second novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al’Thor and his companions set out to retrieve a powerful magical artifact from The Dark One’s Shadowspawn.
For centuries, gleemen have told the tales of The Great Hunt of the Horn. So many tales about each of the Hunters, and so many Hunters to tell of...
Now the Horn itself is found: the Horn of Valere long thought only legend, the Horn which will raise the dead heroes of the ages.
And it is stolen.
In pursuit of the thieves, Rand al’Thor is determined to keep the Horn out of the grasp of The Dark One. But he has also learned that he is The Dragon Reborn—the Champion of Light destined to stand against the Shadow time and again. It is a duty and a destiny that requires Rand to uncover and master magical capabilities he never imagined he possessed.
Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

“Jordan has come to dominate the world Tolkien began to reveal....The battle scenes have the breathless urgency of firsthand experience....The evil laced into the forces of good, the dangers latent in any promised salvation, the sense of unavoidable onslaught of unpredictable events bear the marks of American national experience during the last three decades.”—The New York Times
“Adventure and mystery and dark things that move in the night—a combination of Robin Hood and Stephen King that is hard to resist. Furthermore, Jordan makes the reader put down the book regretting the wait for the next title in the series.”—Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Exciting adventure story with fantastic narration.
I loved the story, especially the final act. I read parts on paper, but listened again to hear how Rosamund Pike acted out each role. I might like her narration better than Roy Dotrice's in Game of Thrones (and he is amazing).
The story was excellent, both inspired by and inspiring of fantasy standards. Aside from LoTR and ASOIAF I love a wizard of Earthsea and this book fit right in with that Wamily of stories. The middle did feel a bit slow to me, but the ending was perfectly paced, both surprising and satisfying.

Beautifully told
The range of voices Rosalind Pike manages is remarkable. Thoroughly enjoyed this telling. Don’t think I can listen to the next book without Pike’s narration. Will she do the third book? I hope so.

Rosamund Pike continues to dominate
Pikes performance leaves nothing to be desired. As I've read in previous comments, I would listen to her read a phone book for 15 hours.
As for the book, if you're reading the review for book 2, then you already know the quality of craftsmanship you're in for!

I already bought all the audiobook of this series, but couldn't stop myself to get this one narrated by Rosemund Pike. She makes it even better.

As is the first rendition... so is this edition.
Loved every chapter of this audiobook, Rosamund Pike is truly the one meant to narrate this story, every character stands out on its own. I love that she not only plays the Aes Sedai in the new TV series but narrates this more thorough version for the book lovers!!!

Rosamund Pike brings this to life!
Rosamund's voice-acting is excellent. So many accents, and vocal styles. It makes it easy to track who is talking despite the large cast of characters. A true pleasure to listen to.

What a relief..
I had finished the first book, except it was the version narrated by Michael Kramer. This is so much better.
There were too many times in Kramer's narration where his tone was completely incongruous with the character or situation.
Hopefully Rosamund Pike will continue the series.

Rosemund Pike is the BEST
The best narrator I've heard by far with the widest range of voices and all encompassing ability to perform Rosemund truly makes this book a mindscape to come back to. Her ability to render emotions from words and enthral listeners has me burning my dinner because I stop and listen. I hope the producing company and Rosemund herself keep making audiobooks because they're fantastic with her. I'd listen to a book just because she's narrating now.
also the story is great too!
