About this listen
Sometimes the only way out is through the darkness.
After her mother's sudden death, Melaney Carter travels hundreds of miles to deal with the inherited property while seeking solace from her obsessed ex-boyfriend and her dreaded upcoming college exams. The neglected house, a result of her mother's hoarding, demands major work, but Mel is determined to clean it so she can sell it and move on.
But when a solar storm hits, everything changes. The power grid goes down, and chaos erupts in a way no one could have seen coming.
It doesn't take long for Mel to realize that no one is coming to save her. She must fend for herself in a dangerous new world where every moment brings a new danger.
Will she be able to rise to the challenge and outlast the darkness, or will she, like many others, be consumed by it?
The Great Solar Storm is a five-book thrilling apocalyptic series about ordinary people facing the end of the world and the collapse of society. This complete box set is perfect for listeners who love EMP, CME, post-apocalyptic, survival, and disaster fiction.

Way too much whining…
I bought this box set for several reasons…it’s post apocalyptic, the narrator Stacey Glemboski who is totally awesome, and that it was a box set.
Now what I didn’t like…the constant whining from Sam 👎, too much of …you can stay and I will go, not enough about what the solar storm actually did to the US and the world, absolutely no roving bad guys, it dragged way too much in the first half and then the last few chapters went way too fast with nothing to say…I had to guess, no military whatsoever not even militia, no blockcades, no shooting, too much of people being held against their will. Then there was Mel who had a crush on a guy and hadn’t seen in years to just have sex within an hour of meeting him. It’s not believable that 2 people driving so far would not have put the radio on at least once. Way too many times that they found a house and it was empty…what happened to all the other people. How on earth were they able to bike all that way and never run into trouble. Too much of Mel explaining away her morning sickness and not understanding that she was pregnant. It just wasn’t believable enough for me but the biggest negative was Sam’s never ending whining.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
