Publisher's Summary
A gloriously warm-hearted novel about wonderful hats, the people who buy them - and their remarkable stories.
Hats! Hats! Hats! Upbrims, sidesweeps, silks, ribbons and trims all become part of Ellie's life when she inherits the little hat shop on Dublin's South Anne Street. But the city is changing, and Ellie must decide if she wants to follow the hat-making tradition of her mother or accept a generous offer to sell the shop.
Encouraged by her friends, Ellie takes on the hat shop, and her quirky designs and tempting millinery confections soon attract a rich assortment of customers all in search of the perfect hat.
Creating hats for weddings, shows, fashion and fun, and falling for the charms of Rory Doyle along the way, Ellie is happier than she has ever been before. But as her fingers work their magic she discovers a lot can happen in the heart of a city like Dublin....

Charming
This is a charming book. I enjoyed the interweaving of multiple stories with the main story of Ellie and her hat shop. I know nothing about hats, but it was fun to follow Ellie's creative process and to see where her hats ended up. It was a lovely story(ies) of friendship and family, and life in Dublin, along with some gentle romance. I loved the narrator's voice, and will seek out other books by both author and narrator.

Such a sweet story; old fashioned charm in a modern day setting
It’s a very sweet story that drew me in right away. Caroline Lennon does a wonderful job narrating. I admit I was sad not to have another chapter, or two, as a few story lines felt unfinished, but it doesn’t take away from the book itself. It’s a light, lovely listen.

Not sure if its 1950 or 2022?
It was an "ok" story...not great but ok. The narration on the other hand was so confusing. It was read as if it were 1950... full of bad accents and inapropriate exclimations.....yet the story was current day. Was a huge turn off and made it difficult to finish.
