Genuinely Creepy Haunted House Tale
This novella has a fairly formulaic plot - young, innocent skeptical woman unknowingly buys a house with a mysterious past that the locals are afraid of - mayhem ensues. Myers does a good job exploring it, however. There's nothing really new or particularly clever here, but the plot progression, while clichéd, is well done. Horrifying otherwordly evil creatures and the dead make their way into the tale. The story is a little too short for character development, but I didn’t really miss it - it jumps pretty quickly into the scary bits.. It's satisfying.
The author reads the story herself, which works really well. She does an admirable job - a little breathy, but with the right emphasis where needed.
I bought this book as a Daily Deal and it was well worth it. If you're looking for something scary and don't care if it’s a little sophomoric, this is worth buying on sale, though not quite worth a Credit. 5.5 stars out of 10.

Short, but well written.
I like how in her writing, she shows me with the descriptions instead of just telling me. Very well described.
I felt like the ending of the book had a faster pace when I wanted a little more than a quick ending. The story was built up and built up and built up and then it just ended quickly. Other than that, I absolutely loved the story's concept.

Not bad
Overall the story is a pretty classic ghost story. Nothing really unpredictable happens. The narration is a bit awkward in places due to poor grammar and pronunciation.
