About this listen

Corrie ten Boom was a Dutch watchmaker who became a heroine of the Resistance, a survivor of Hitler's concentration camps, and one of the most remarkable evangelists of the 20h century.

In World War II she and her family risked their lives to help Jews and underground workers escape from the Nazi's, and for their work they were tested in the infamous Nazi death camps. Only Corrie among her whole family survived to tell the story of how faith ultimately triumphs over evil. Here is the riveting account of how Corrie and her family were able to save many of God's chosen people.

For 35 years millions have seen that there is no pit so deep that God's love in not deeper still. Now The Hiding Place, repackaged for a new generation of readers, continue to declare that God's love will overcome, heal and restore.

Truly amazing in all respects. Heartbreaking retelling if true events from World war 2. But tremendously courageous people doing what many would never do today

Beautiful story, wonderfully told

I absolutely loved the story and the reader did a wonderful job animating the words! It starts off a little slow, but it’s important to covey the quiet, simple life they left behind once the occupation began. Keep listening through Corrie’s early life and you won’t be disappointed!

The contrast between the brutalities that surrounded versus the hope within.

This is a wonderful and graceful representation of the horrors of World War II. The author takes you through the brutal deconstruction of their innocence, and then equally bring you back to the infinite grace of their faith. A bright light in a dark time.

A True Modern Classic

Having been brought up in the Church, this book has been on the periphery of my consciousness for as long as I can remember. It and its author have been quoted, referenced and recommended as much as any other Christian literature in the 20th century outside of CS Lewis. Now that I finally read it, there is no mystery as to why. Do yourself a favour - read this book!

A story of love and forgiving among such hatred.

Simply marvelous. An honest recount of the fall of Holland to Hitler's army, the will to help, the price to pay and the will to survive in this new world order of hate. And the naration is perfect - one of the best I heard so far.

Wow.

That joy, not just healing, not just pain management but actual joy can come out of such suffering is the testimony of these lives that were submitted to Jesus. Not preachy at all. It was a beautiful story of lives lived transparently- complete with failures and honest emotions. So glad I finally listened to this book. The narrator was excellent.
