Publisher's Summary
When 17-year-old Maddy Pruitt vanishes from her sleepy town, word on the street is that she ran away. The daughter of an abusive alcoholic with a quick temper, she had every reason to leave in search of something better, and everyone who knew Maddy knew the type of company she kept wasn't always ideal.
But when a second 17-year-old girl from a local, affluent family turns up missing shortly after Maddy's disappearance, the circumstances become suspicious. Even though the girls are perfect strangers from opposite sides of town, attended separate schools, and traveled in different social circles, it turns out they have more in common than anyone could have imagined.
With the clock ticking, those closest to the girls lead a frantic search, uncovering secrets, lies, and a web of deceit that might have the girls paying an ultimate price...if they don't find them in time.
Contains mature themes.

Great listen
This is a plus catalogue gem. The story was good other than the lack of research or storyline behind the police work done with the crimes. I was able to easily overlook the fact that that part kind of made no sense bc I enjoyed the book though!

Unpredictable!
Definitely worth a listen. There are a few stories running at the same time until the penny drops and you realize the connection. Quite sad as these women’s lives are a reality for some. The ending was not what I expected. Will be looking out for more books by the author

Good story weird ending.
I liked the overall story but it made no sense how they tied it up. The mother in this story, given the circumstances, would not have acted or ignored what took place after the disappearance.

I finished it
I finished listening to the book, but there were multiple times I nearly stopped. I couldn’t manage to like the characters enough to care what happened to them. The twists at the end were too deus ex machina for me and I kept going back thinking I missed something. The narrators were good. The subject matter is important, but it just wasn’t for me.

Captivating!
This is one of the best audible books I had so far. The book kept me hooked from the first chapter. If you enjoy thrillers this book is for you with lots of twists and turns. The narration was amazing and kept the characters interesting as well!

it was ok
the voice actress for alegra was annoying, it was tough to get through. the others were fine though. the story started good but the constant jumping around was annoying and made it hard to follow. I finished the book feeling there were still unanswered questions. not sure if all loose ends were tied up or if I just missed a few parts. may be a better read then listen.

Unexpected twists and turns!
Pretty good thriller. I felt like I was watching a movie in my head with all the descriptive details.
I almost stopped due to some triggering topics( violence, r**e, etc), but I pushed through, hoping for an ending that made up for it. Although it felt a little rushed towards the end, it was pretty well tied together; I would have loved more details and back story into each character to pull me in further.
I really appreciated the point of view of the narration, although one of the narrators was a bit off-putting for me. She did, however, convey the character well through her narration. I would recommend this book for sure, as it actually makes you think a lot about what you might do if it was you.... thumbs up

Surprisingly captivating!
I typically listen at audiobooks when I'm doing housework in the morning, but once I got into this one, I would 'listen' during my chores, and then I'd 'read' more in the evening (on my kindle) it was so addicting! the twists and turns made it impossible to put down, well done! The story held me right to the end! I'm officially a fan of her writing and am already looking forward to another one of her books.

Graphically disturbing
This had my heart racing and adrenaline pumping on a couple occasions, including the surprisingly graphic depictions of some of the seedier scenes. While the writing seemed a bit strained at times by seemingly superfluous or repetitive detail and the plot line is a bit busy, it does come together with a few surprising twists. As someone who was nearly abducted as a child, I found myself unable to pause in wanting to see through to how it ends.

First half is very good
This was included in my membership thankfully. The first half is very good. Unfortunately the story ends up.dragging and then gets wrapped up very quickly in a implausible ending with major gaps in the storyline. If you have even rudimentary knowledge of police procedures, you end up scratching your head.
