Story
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

Publisher's Summary
At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?
They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

Preferred the first narrator
The narrator this book didn’t capture the same energy of the characters as the narrator from the first 3 books and kinda took away from the story. Piper especially was voiced like a plastic queen bee mean girl type when it’s well established that she isn’t the preppy snobby type girl. Not a fan of a recast mid series

[Review Title]
It’s an incredible story and I love this book so much. The narrating however, makes me hate the characters honestly. Piper for example, sounds like a really popular girl who thinks she’s better than everyone because her daddy’s a movie star, when she’s supposed to be the opposite. She doesn’t really like having a famous dad and is kind of annoyed when her dads chef makes her a fancy sandwich instead of just a plain pb&j

Amazing but you ruined it
It had so much potential but the narrative seemed to hate it and had no excitement.🥹

Re narration should be made
This book is phenomenal, but they need to remake the audiobook with a different narrator. This one had made me dislike characters I loved due to not understanding how their line delivery would be. It... There's a weird valley girl spin on everyone's accents and it is very halting and cringy. Maybe with more experience this narrator could have done this well, but as it is he very much does not capture the characters.
I really hope they make it with another narrator before long.

Poor narration
I found that the story was just as good as the other books in the series, but the voices weren’t that good.

Awesome
I love how Rick is able to create this whole mythos of old and bring into the modern world and Nick does an excellent job bringing the words to life. I was a little concerned when it switched narrators half way through the series but Nick made all the worries go away. Can’t wait to finish the last book and then onto he other Riordan series #Audible1
