Just complex enough.

I'm enjoying this cosy series a lot. The mysteries are just complex enough, the characters are human and well-developed, the dog is fun, and the historical detail seems accurate. I do get a chuckle on how a lowly 28y/o writer with no education, and a mystery book or two to his name, commands Scotland Yard detectives--and they respect and obey him.
